Dreaming in Code

I've heard that people memorize, and even learn, while they are sleeping. Last night I had a first-hand encounter with this phenomenon.
Lately I've been up to my eyeballs in Actionscript, working on a project that even pushes the seemingly boundless capabilities of Flex.  I spent a few hours yesterday working on a FOR loop that was so complicated that my brain would get boggled as I stepped through the code.
Last night I was awoken when my dog, Lilo, barked. I was in the middle of vivid dream about stepping through the code in that dreaded FOR loop!  In my dream I wasn't frustrated, as I was during the day while actually working on the code.  Instead I was calm as I stepped through each line, keeping track of all the variables in my mind and thinking of all sorts of ideas that I could try in order to get the results I was looking for.
I specifically recall seeing the same variables that I was using in the real code, which leads me to believe that my brain was working to strengthen my memory.
Unfortunately the dream was shrouded in some mystery, just like every other dream I've ever had.  I can't recall the specifics of all the ideas I wanted to try. Maybe if Lilo had barked a few seconds later I could have awoken with a clear solution in my mind.
